Meet Nathan – Director of Hull-based Digital & Tech Recruitment Agency, EDIT Recruitment
Good afternoon! Today, we’re so pleased to be introducing our Director of EDIT Recruitment, Nathan. Not only is he the driving force and passion behind EDIT, but he boasts a pretty impressive career to date. So, without further ado, let’s going, shall we?
“Like a lot of others, I struggle and hate to write about myself. I never know what I could tell you, or I get anxious about saying the right thing. However, I am going to give it my best shot. So, “Hello!” I’m Nathan!“
Nathan, Director of EDIT Recruitment, Digital & Tech Recruitment Agency
“Over the past 10 years, my career has been rather varied, so I will start off simple and talk about my personal life. I live a rather simple, but enjoyable life; I like watching and playing football and I currently play for a Charity football team called Lads FC. We play tournaments and one-off games throughout Europe to raise money for mental health charities across the UK. More recently, I was absolutely delighted to be asked to be a Welfare Officer for Lads FC, where my role entails me to support team players’ mental health.
Furthermore, I am also a Facilitator for Andy’s Man Club, Hull, a mental health charity and support network for men. It’s a real achievement knowing that If I can even just help one person, then that is my role achieved! On a personal level, giving back to the club that provided such support for me is hugely important.
When I’m not working, I like to catch up with friends in the pub with a nice pint cold pint of Stella Artois, watch football or spend time with my Cavapoo, Milo (he makes life just a little happier).
Throughout my career so far, I have gained a wealth of experience. I left school 10 years ago, from there I started a Hull City Council Apprenticeship in IT and had a placement supporting the education sector with IT end-user, network and cloud support. I look back at these times and wonder how I survived on apprenticeship wages!
After a midnight, drunken conversation I decided to leave for Leeds within the month. In that time, I found a job, a flat, and got sorted where I spent 2 years working in 2 IT-based roles.
As anyone who is from Hull, you quickly realise you miss it! I came back for a couple of years where I took a year out of work to go back into education and started a new career as a Junior Web Developer. After 3 years of learning and freelancing creating Websites, Apps and CRM’s, I moved to Lincoln where I became a Senior Developer. Whilst in Lincoln I was headhunted to be a Technical Director for a start-up digital agency.
Whilst a Technical Director, I drove the technical growth of the business and managed the technical projects liaising with Dev teams and clients effectively. I internally recruited the whole design and development team, which as a collective we went on to secure Lincolnshire’s Digital Agency of The Year award and work with global DTC brands.
The start of something new (and pretty spectacular!)
I left this role to pursue a career as a director in the recruitment industry, and since then founded EDIT Recruitment. During my previous role, I gained an understanding of the frustrations and struggles from the client-side and wanted to offer a stress-free, personal and innovative approach to recruitment.
During our first year, we have partnered with Reach Resourcing which was a pivotal move for the business to bring Benjamin on board and since that partnership, we have grown our team, office size and really pushed on to providing the best services to our clients.”
Thank you, Nathan! It was lovely to delve further into your life outside of the workplace and to hear about your career. If you’d like to reach out to Nathan, feel free to drop him an email at email@example.com. Alternatively, you can connect with Nathan via his favourite social channel, Linkedin.
